Hello! It's Fariha Hossain. Well, free-rice is a new app for me to learn vocabulary since I never use any app to learn vocabulary, although I never heard about it. However, I was wondering what it could be after knowing the name " Free-rice."" I was puzzled and curious, though. Moreover, I liked the idea that every correct answer would donate a few grains of rice to those who are hungry. It made me feel like I was doing something small but meaningful just by learning. So, learning experience was quite interesting ,exciting, and also contributing . First of all,
Learning Objective:
The main goal of the app
is to help users learn vocabulary, grammar, and general knowledge. For
me, it felt like an educational game — I was improving my English while
contributing to a good cause at the same time.
2. User Friendliness:
I
found the app very easy to use. The layout was clean and simple. I
could quickly choose a topic and start answering questions without any
confusion. I think It’s great that I didn’t have to create an account or
go through long steps to start playing.
 3. Motivation :
Thirdly,What honestly kept
me motivated was that I am learning with a good purpose, and through
this, I am actually helping people. Unlike other apps where I just
play for fun or competition, this one made my learning feel meaningful.
Every correct answer represented not just my progress but also a small
act of kindness toward someone in need.
It gave me a
sense of responsibility and pride — even though I was just answering
questions on my phone, I was still part of something bigger, helping
fight world hunger in my own small way. That thought kept me going.
 4.Interaction:
Although the app doesn’t have chat or multiple option for the instant feedback after every question made it
feel interactive enough. I liked seeing whether my answer was correct
right away, and it helped me remember new words better.
5. Learning
Outcome:
After using the app for a while, I noticed
that my vocabulary improved, especially with synonyms and word
meanings. I also learned new facts from the general knowledge section.
It’s not a deep learning experience, but it’s perfect for quick learning
 sessions during free time.
6. Limitations:
One
thing I wish the app had was explanations for wrong answers — sometimes
I wanted to know why something was wrong. It would also be nice if I
could compete with friends or see my progress in more detail.
7. Suggestions for the Developer:
I
would suggest adding short explanations for incorrect answers and maybe
a leader board or weekly challenges to make it more exciting. An offline
mode could also be helpful for users with poor internet connections.
8. Miscellaneous:
Overall, my experience with Free-rice was positive. It’s simple, meaningful, and educational. I enjoyed learning while knowing that
my time was contributing to a good cause. It’s a small way to make a
difference — and it actually made learning feel rewarding.😇
